Working for a greener future.

With the Green Dreaming project, Olitalia undertakes to assess and reduce the CO2eq. environmental impact of its products.

The assessment of the emissions

Measuring and certifying the emissions generated by a product and identifying the stages in the production process with the greatest environmental impact are the first steps in the process to implement measures to reduce this impact. The carbon footprint analysis project involved four products: Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Grapeseed Oil, in 1 litre glass and PET bottles.

Olitalia green commitment

The GREEN DREAMING project is just one aspect of the ambitious environmental sustainability policy adopted by Olitalia. Indeed, for years now sustainability and environmental awareness have been at the centre of the company’s corporate philosophy.

Here are just a couple of examples of our commitment to the environment since 2010:

Renewable sources

We have installed a 200 kWp photovoltaic plant which covers around 10% of the company’s electrical consumption and have implemented measures to improve energy efficiency.

Packaging

We have introduced more responsible packaging solutions. Considering the volumes of products sold in 2014, reducing the weight of our bottles has cut CO2eq. emissions by about 88 tons, the equivalent of a mid-sized car driving around the world about 6 times.

Energy management

We monitor all energy issues, identifying opportunities where we can cut consumption, leading to a reduction in costs and environmental impact. Reduction in energy consumption of 5%.
